TRACKS is a concept album of songs, dances and poems. Part-ritual, part-gig, part-dance show, audiences are welcomed into this odd universe in a temporary incubation of collective grief, celebration and discombobulation. Together we expel our internal chaos through rhythm, harmony and not-quite-harmony, re-ordering it into something that feels more or less coherent.
NEARNESS
Nearness is a sculptural landscape of two bodies entwined. The mound of two bodies support, hold, and shift each other slowly and minimally. This is accompanied by harmonic and dissonant singing.
CHANCE DANCE
Chance, chance, chance... Taking the rhythm from one of our poems, Chance Dance is a cheeky unison duet.
REMEMBERING
Remembering is a lament of percussive stamping and cathartic singing, circling in and in on itself.
POEMS
Our poems are written by adopting Emmet Williams poetry writing algorithm - with a few of our own edits and adaptations too. Generally delivered in unison.
TROUBLES
Troubles is an intricate and elegant track which weaves together movement, poetry and song together. Beginning as a unison dance on loop over and over, gradually a poem emerges and proves itself intrinsically linked to the movement. Harmonies spin this poem into song, until the space is charged with harmonic sound and rhythmic repetition.
SMALL DANCES
Small Dances are like the embodiment of our poems; streams of thought are cut up and rearranged into bumpy strings of satifying movement.
INTERLUDE
Beginning as a song, we layer and mix our voices until the space rumbles. Then we dance around in the aftermath.
SONGS
Within TRACKS we have a collection of songs which swing between harmony and dissonance, light and dark.
